Catch Up - Part 1

In our Bible studies at El Jordán so far this year we have been looking at Old Testament stories… looking for Jesus´ name whispered in each one… Several weeks ago in our class, we were with the Israelites… being freed from their slavery in yet again… the manna, the fresh water… God´s protection and guidance. We started thinking about how many times we´re the same as the Israelites – so quickly forgetting what God has done… reverting to our wandering independence and complaints…

We now have a routine of sharing where we saw God´s Hand in our lives that week – a practice to help us NOT FORGET… The first week we did it, three of the girls could barely wait to share their God sightings…

Christmas on the Streets 2016

Though it’s been three months since “Christmas on the Streets” I still want to document it - yet another testimony of God´s faithfulness, a tribute to His hand and provision… Where would we be without Him?

December came… with the expectancy of finishing up our classes…programs… the year…. My feelings were mixed: looking forward to seeing how God provided… but at the same time a little worried about how and if our expenses would be covered… With all of our adjustments in “Christmas on the Streets” and moving towards “Friendship on the Streets” in July, would people still support our event in December? We drastically cut back our numbers… but it didn´t cut back proportionately on our expenses because we made certain improvements…

Heart Sick

Hi everyone… I wanted to forward onto you a letter I wrote in response to a question I received… because I think it is an idea that other churches, families, groups of friends, small groups, schools could do… not specifically for El Jordán… but for any ministry close to their heart…

In Mary´s church, the Mission's Committee handed out $100 bills to people who wanted to cross culturally promote the Kingdom of God. Rosi's House

El Jordan

It's Finally Here

Finally its here!! This update has been sitting here waiting to be sent for a bit now. Activities, travels, conferences, visitors and daily life have kept us busy and emails delayed, but not forgotten. Thank you so very much for your patience!!

The House That God Built

Rosi’s house was finished in September… and even with time passing I don’t think it has all set in… Rosi tears easily when thinking of what God did in her and her families life in the months before… she asks constantly that we would pray that they never become complacent or forgetful of what God has done for them… Rosi’s prayers and desires is that this new home would be the first stepping stone to a future for her girls… God provided so many “extras” along the way… a family from a Christian school bought Rosi a stove, when they heard she was cooking over campfire, food and living supplies have come in, time and time again when her cupboards were bare… clothes, paint, plants, gardeners and more have come when needed… donations to cover the cost for electricity and water plumbed to the house and even a fridge was given, a dream that brought Rosi to her knees when she showed up at her home one afternoon to see it being unloaded into her house!... Rosi’s story is a testament to us of the power of prayer, family (God’s), the faith of a mustard seed and what can happen when you trust in God as your provider, father and comfort…
