Pray for Leyla

First of all…. the way I normally send my emails isn't working…. so PLEASE FORGIVE ME IF YOU GET THIS MORE THAN ONCE.... or if you aren't supposed to be on this list and are.... When I get back to Bolivia my normal lists should work again!!!!

On June 4th, Keiden, Marlee and I left Bolivia to visit family, friends and ministry partners… We had to say goodbye to Marco, who is holding down the fort in Bolivia. He still isn’t allowed into North America (We are allowed to try again to get his visa in another year… so we are praying for a miracle!!!)

We’ve had wonderful visits in the Toronto area, Vancouver area, Washington, Montana and now Calgary…. We have one more stop in Winnipeg before we leave for Bolivia on July 12th (and arrive home really early on July 14th)… There were quite a few people we missed seeing… and other spots we just couldn’t get to… but hopefully next time we will see you!!!!!

A Redeemed Journey - June 2019

El Jordan

Its mid June and most of North America is planning their summer vacations... I too am planning July and August adventures! Some already know (most I actually I think), but this N.A. summer (Bolivian winter) I will be traveling to Canada to visit some of you and share in a couple of churches... We at El Jordan have some exciting news to share with you and I hope to be able to do so in person...

This year "Discipleship" has been running through my heart and head. What it means, entails, how to do it etc... Taking a look at El Jordan, I have sat many times thinking what's our next move, what changes do we have to do for excellence, for that race towards Christ... One word keeps coming back time and time again "Discipleship".

A Quick Update!

Just a short little update:

Little Gary (4 years old) is now at home with his family! He still can’t walk as easily or fast as before and his arm still needs some more movement BUT after the grim prognosis given by the doctors, this is certainly an answer to our prayers!!! After Gary got out of ICU into a regular room, doctors would come and see him and ask “This is Gary???”

Miriam (Gary´s mom) believes God allowed this to happen to push her to change “for good”…. She has told her family that she doesn’t want to drink any more, a promise she has upheld so far. Gary´s dad has been drinking less and spending more time with the family. Noelia, Gary´s older sister has also been reflecting on her “wild” lifestyle and expressed a desire to change…. For our Easter celebration, Gary was still in the hospital but Miriam came with Milton (his very first time to set foot in El Jordán!)

More news on little Gary!!!

THANKS EVERYONE FOR PRAYING!!!! When my mom and I visited Ana Karen the other day, we asked her to pray for little Gary… that God would work in his life the way that He had done in hers… We can see HIS hand on Gary´s body…. And HIS love and care, wooing the heart of Miriam…

UPDATE FROM THE EL JORDAN WHATSAPP GROUP FROM MONDAY: News on Gary! Not all of the results are back yet… However they ruled out RABIES which apparently was a possibility!!!! Yesterday was his 4th birthday… and the nurses let his family in (rather than one visitor at a time) with a cake... Gary was awake enough to blow out his candle… and to recognize each member of his family and say a few words… Thank God!!!!!! There should be more test results tomorrow morning!

Gary is in a state hospital and he is under 5 years old, which means that his hospital stay, tests and any medicines they have on hand at the hospital are free!!! Usually they don't have many medicines on hand in the hospital but not having to pay for tests and hospital stay is a huge blessing!!!!!

UPDATE FROM TODAY (TUESDAY): Good news on Gary tonight!!!! He was moved out of intensive care!!! All of the tests that were sent to a lab which specializes in tropical diseases came back negative…. Nor doesn´t have meningitis. They are still waiting for results from the MRI.... but he has been moved out of intensive care!!!! Praise the Lord!!!!

With Gary out of intensive care, Miriam (the mom) can now stay the night with him… which is so nice for both of them!!!! Gary has eaten… and is talking… although he still has weakness in his lower limbs… So we can keep on praying!!!! THANKS EVERYONE!!!

From Corina, for all of us at El Jordán….
