Can You Guess What $230 Can Buy?

Well… here we are… only 10 days from Christmas… Wow… Some of you have been asking about “Christmas on the Streets”… so I wanted to let you know how things are going… before its here and gone!!!!

It was back in October that I started getting reminders that Christmas was near…  I answered my phone one day… it took me a bit to recognize the little voice on the other end of the phone… “Hola Tia”  (Hi Auntie)…  Hmm… all of my nephews are a long way away… it couldn’t be any of them…  Then the voice went on to say… “Are you going to come to our house on Christmas night again this year?”  These are five little siblings… the oldest must be about 13 now… and the youngest maybe two years old… Their mom no longer lives on the streets… but her life hasn’t changed…  She still goes to the streets to make money… leaving her kids locked in her one room mud “house” when she is gone…  You might remember years ago when the mom was admitted into the hospital unexpectedly… the kids were left locked in the room, and she had the key…  We “rescued” them that Christmas…

A Crooked Yet Straight Path

We must be ready to allow ourselves to be interrupted by God... It is a strange fact that Christians and even ministers frequently  consider their work so important and urgent that they will allow nothing to disturb them.  They think they are doing God a service in this, but actually they are disdaining God’s ‘crooked’ yet straight path. Life Together (Bonhoeffer)

God’s ‘crooked’ yet straight path.  Hmmm.  “If we are working for the God who never sleeps and who is ever sustaining all of life, we should not be surprised that He requires that we be flexible, sensitive and open to redirection.”

Thinking About Hearts

There’s good news… and not too bad news… The good news… I found my Birkenstocks… in a bag, in our storage room… mixed in with some plastic jugs and muffin tins!!!  I do often forget them here and there… but I KNOW that I didn’t leave them there!!!!!  Anyhow… I was just happy to have them back again…

“Royce”… well… he is STILL in the shop… its been almost 2 ½ weeks now… they’ve said “mañana” several times now… so we should be getting close to getting him back!!!  Maybe tomorrow!!!!  Each day that goes by without him, I am reminded what an incredible tool a vehicle is… hmmm… hopefully tomorrow…

As for the “motorcycle diary” … the process continues on… The secretary would like some money to “close” the case… the police investigator seems to be more on the motorcyclist’s side of things… Please continue praying for all of this… and continue to pray for Eddy to heal well…  Thanks…

Job or Jonah?

Well…  I’m beginning to wonder if I’m a Jonah (but I can’t think of anything I am running away from!!!) or a Job (although I don’t think I rank up there with the “justness” of Job!!!)

It has been exactly a month since the accident with the motorcycle... Eddy is home and in recovery… He still has to go in for check ups twice a week… please continue to pray for a quick recovery… and that God provides their needs…  there isn’t any way for Eddy to work… and his wife really can’t either because she has to take care of their baby…

As for the case… well… the prosecutor is charging me with a “culpable crime”… basically saying that I was negligent, not prudent and I forget what else… so my lawyer is appealing… The police “investigator” hasn’t investigated anything…. So… that’s where that situation is at…
