What in the world do Medicine Hat, Piapot and Moose Jaw (Canada) have to with Santa Cruz, Bolivia???
Well… there are two men cycling across Canada!!!!! Cam and Ken have dreamt for years of cycling from Vancouver to PEI… and it has finally worked out for them to do it… They started two weeks ago… and will be arriving in Moose Jaw, SK tomorrow! They are planning to finish their 6,000 kilometer trek by the end of July!!!!
Cam came with his family twice to visit El Jordan in 2006 and 2008… Now, he and his friend are taking advantage of their adventure and have chosen El Jordan as their “cause”! You can follow them at the following link… and write them a little encouraging note if you want!

It is also a neat opportunity to introduce El Jordan to others who might not hear about it any other way…
I’ve been telling the students at El Jordan about Ken and Cam… We have a map of Canada up on our patio to follow their progress… Even still, they have a hard time imaging that there could be so much pavement… that Cam and Ken don’t have to worry about robbers or bandits attacking them… and that there are people out there who would do this FOR THEM!!!
Each and every person who comes to El Jordan has their story… Some are too painful for them to share… Tania is an example of that… Her tough exterior protects and masks a hurting and damaged heart… Her many, many self-inflicted scars each come with a story… the outside wounds have healed, unlike her inside hurts… About a year ago, she wrote her life story for us to “hear”… expressing events and feelings she had told no one… I’ve never been able to read it without sobbing... and wishing all of my volunteers could read it so they can catch a glimpse beyond the roughness…
In our weekly Bible studies, the girls share their concerns so that we can pray about them… This Tuesday, Tania was the one who said, “I want to thank God that there are people like Cam and Ken who remember us…”
Cam and Ken’s trip is so much more than two men on their trek bikes… crossing Canada’s 6,000 kms. It is so much more than raising money or awareness… It is a salve on Tania’s heart… a touch of kindness…
...a reminder that people care…
…that God cares…
Thank you Cam and Ken…
Corina…
