Ministry UpdatesRead the Latest News & Updates from El Jordán

Hi there everyone…

I just wanted to write a very quick note to give you a small update on a few things…

1.      I’m now the only ME in Bolivia!  Yeah!!!!  After about half a dozen visits to the Identification place, the other “me” was erased… and before I knew what was happening,   (with Marlee pulling at the cords of their computers and Keiden picking up all the stray staples on the floor), they took my pictures, finger prints for my ID card (others were signing up for their pictures etc for the end of March!!!) Thank you God!!! I was in such shock I didn’t even ask to look at the information to see if it was right… and they say by Wednesday or Thursday I should be able to pick up my ID card… (others have to wait 2 weeks!) Please pray that everything will be correct… and I’ll be able to get all the other pending paperwork done quickly…

2.       Tomorrow our classes start up at El Jordan!!!  We have had several new girls sign up… (pray that nothing will discourage them or get in their way of coming…) There are others who said they’d come… but haven’t showed up yet…  (Pray that they will be drawn to El Jordan…)  It’ll take a couple weeks for the attendance to normalize… Pray for wisdom/discernment for teachers… desire to learn and change in the students… for there to be enough child care workers… and that more new girls will decide to come to classes…

3.       The possibilities for men to set up their shops at the workshops have kind of fizzled out… PLEASE pray that God will send us WORKERS to fill this crucial need… (carpentry, welding and auto-electric mechanics)… The one we thought was basically a “done deed” – kind of disappeared...

 4.      The school year has started in Bolivia… and it is hard for our students to buy all the school supplies and books the teachers ask for… At El Jordan we help out with some supplies but the girls still have uniforms, textbooks, bus fares and more supplies to cover…   Pray that the girls will see God providing for them…

5.      Some difficult situations have come to light in a couple of our students’ families…  that we need much wisdom to know how to deal with them…  Pray that we might have much wisdom in every situation that comes our way…

Thank you for your prayers…  we need them…

God bless…
